Justice League was released 2 years ago. To this day, it is still a divisive film that has created much conversation. Fans continue to debate about whether or not the Snyder Cut would wipe away the failings of the Whedon/Snyder mash up. Although the cut has never been released, many fans have taken to creating their own edits. As you can see below, one such Justice League fan envisions a Snyder-inspired opening scene.

Created and shared on Youtube by Jon Arryn Garza, the opening sequence removes the cell phone clip of Superman. It also removes the soundtrack in favor of Amy Adams’ voice over with a more dramatic backing track. All in all, it’s a much more dramatic interpretation. Garza has very cleverly achieved the feel and aesthetic of Zack Snyder.

The opening scene with Batman in the theatrical cut was written by Joss Whedon and was intended to be comedic. Actor Holt McCallany, who shares the scene with Ben Affleck, explained this in an interview.

My scene with Batman was originally conceived as a comedic scene. That’s how Joss wrote it, and that’s how we shot it. I thought it came out great, but the studio felt it would be a mistake to open the film with a completely comedic scene, so it was re-edited a little bit. I was disappointed.

Although this brilliant fan edit nails the feel of Snyder, we are still no closer to seeing the Snyder Cut. Hopefully, one day we will get to see the original vision for Justice League.

What do you think of this fan edit? Do you still hope to see Snyder’s cut? Let us know.
