DC Comics announced the winner of the Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Building Bad contest, where they designed a new villain.

At Comic-Con San Diego, DC revealed Jenna Anderson as the winner. Her winning villain is named Rhetoric. Additionally, DC showed the comics and LEGO designs for the new rogues member.

Rhetoric

He seems to have BDSM gear, as well as googles that looks like he stole from Vigilante and a mask from Hannibal Lecter’s personal collection. He seems to wear a sleeveless prison jumpsuit over a suit with chains all over it, particularly along his forearms. He also carries some rather big guns, which possibly hints at his skills as a sharpshooter.

Unfortunately, DC did not reveal any details about the character’s backstory or even power set.

With that being said Rhetoric will appear in both the comics, as well as part of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’s downloadable content. In the DC universe, Rhetoric will make his appearance in  Detective Comics #1113. Later on, he will also be in  Batman #14 and an untitled Batman Day DC GO! webcomic.

While it is probably unlikely that the character will get much of an origin in those comics, hopefully he will continue to make appearances as time goes on.

LEGO has not set a specific date when and what DLC Rhetoric will show.
