Batman/ Judge Dredd: Judgement on Gotham gets a new anniversary edition hardcover release.
Judgement on Gotham originally hit comic shops way back in 1991. Now, Judge Dredd publisher 2000AD is releasing a new reprint edition for the 35th anniversary. John Wagner and popular 90’s Batman writer Alan Grant wrote the hit comic. It also had Simon Bisley on art duties. If you have never heard of the comic, check out the official solicitation.
‘Judgement on Gotham’ pitted the Ultimate Lawman against the Dark Knight Detective, with Judge Dredd and his psychic colleague Judge Anderson forced to team up with Batman after the undead arch-fiend Judge Death escapes from Mega-City One to Gotham City and, alongside The Scarecrow, wreaks havoc – from murdering the masses to headlining a rock concert!

The original crossover was a massive commercial and critical success. It is still considered one of the highest selling Judge Dredd comics ever. Additionally, it won the Penguin Books Award for Best Graphic Novel and UK Comic Art Award for Best Original Graphic Novel. On the art side, Bisley won the Best Artist Eisner Award and UK Comic Art Award. To top things off, the Eisner also nominated the comic for Best Graphic Album: New.
The anniversary edition reprints the story in a larger format. carefully restored by Rebellion’s experienced reprographics teams – to present Bisley’s groundbreaking fully-painted artwork in a glorious new light.
