DC Animation recently released the another new trailer for Batman: Knightfall Part 1.
Actually the full official title of the movie is Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall. Yes, you read that right, the word Knightfall is in the title twice. That is because the overall trilogy is called Knightfall, but this specific movie is ALSO called Knightfall, since it details Batman’s fall from grace. How wacky is Warner Bros.’ marketing team for making such a confusing title?
‘Batman: Knightfall Part 1’ Trailer Breakdown
Anyways, this movie is based on the first part of the Knightfall storyline. In the first act, Bane blows up Arkham Asylum, allowing the inmates to escape. Batman and Robin is tasked to pushing themselves to their limits to recapture all of them.
This trailer looks wonderful. As previously said in the teaser trailer, the animation style really does a great job evoking the art style of 90’s Batman comics. The blacks are really rich and deep. The animation also looks more fluid than previous DC Animated movies.
Like the last teaser, there are a huge army of escaped supervillains. We see some normal rogues gallery members, like Scarecrow, the Mad Hatter, the Riddler, and Mr. Freeze. But I personally get excited when we see the less well-kniown characters in the movie. Like, how the previous teaser showed the Tally Man, this trailer showed Mr. Zsasz, the Ventriloquist, and Firefly in their 90’s looks. I hope we also see guys like Film Freak and Amygdala. Now that would be some deep cuts!
Batman: Knightfall Part 1 will be available on digital download on August 25th and Blu-Ray and DVD on September 8th. No word on when Parts 2 and 3 will come out.
