Are you ready to smile with the Batman: Wayne Family Adventures #39 – #43? We certainly are! Released on WebToon every Thursday, this online comic is guaranteed to make you laugh and experience those feelings.

No One Ever Believes I’m Innocent

Duke finds out the hard way that keeping a secret identity while he fights goons and protects Gotham isn’t the easiest thing in the world. Turning to Luke and Tim helps but also doesn’t, because the Bat-Family has some… questionable methods for keeping the ruse up, it seems. Tim is nothing but dedicated to the schtick, which is a little concerning. Thankfully, he’s found someone to help with all that overthinking he does, because… Pride!

In two chapters we see some lovely brother-sister bonding between our two icons as they talk about Tim’s anxiety about dating Bernard. It’s very cute.

Surprising the Justice League, and starting a few rumors, Batman goes to work with a cast and crutches. Being the badass that he is, everyone assumes he had a massive fight with multiple villains and he just lets them. If Batsy’s good at one thing, it’s keeping secrets.

Stephanie tries to get the truth out of her brothers as she interrogates them to find out who ate her sandwich, and pets are not always like their owners, since Ace chooses to lick her face instead of helping with the investigation. We also get a glimpse of Jason playing with Alfred the Cat and I never knew I needed that in my life until now.

Conclusion

Since June is Pride Month, I’m so glad that Tim and Kate had two chapters just for themselves, and even that his in-comics-continuity boyfriend Bernard has been introduced. I’m even happier that the chapters aren’t obnoxious in a “look at this gay character” way, that many companies around the world adopt for the month. It’s just a pair of cute chapters about Tim finding someone that he generally likes and wants to spend time with, but is also too scared to hold his hand.

Kate’s response to being asked if dating boys is the same as dating girls is one of my favorite things so far, but all of these chapters come back to one thing, again: the Bat-Family have each other’s backs through thick and thin.

Happy PRIDE everyone.
