When AT&T acquired Time Warner back in 2018, some fans were concerned about the future of any DC projects moving forward. However, it seems that with the formation of WarnerMedia and the projects announced since, we had nothing to worry about. Now, we have a better idea of how committed AT&T is to DC. At AT&T’s Investor’s Day presentation, as a slide has been presented with 24 logos of various current and upcoming projects. Of note to Batfans, there were images for Zatanna and Batgirl projects.
One investor, by the name of Rich Greenfield, shared a slide that was revealed at the presentation. Ignoring his critical comparison of DC vs Marvel, it’s intriguing to see all these projects laid out like that. The titles on the slide span movies, TV, and even video games, so it’s going to tough to predict which character’s assigned to which medium.

will be interesting to see if they can execute anywhere near Marvel going forward, as historically it has not been close

A quick scan shows us several projects that we were already aware of, like The Suicide Squad, The Batman, Harley Quinn, and the two games; Gotham Knights, and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. However, for Batfans, there are two logos for previously unconfirmed properties that have set the Internet ablaze. Apparently, we’re getting projects centered around Zatanna and Batgirl.
Zatanna?! Batgirl?!
This is the first concrete information we’ve ever heard of anything involving Zatanna, a magician and frequent Bats collaborator.
Although the Batgirl project isn’t completely new, it is, however, the first bit of news we’ve had in a couple of years. Joss Whedon originally signed on to write and direct a Batgirl movie back in 2017, but left the project in 2018. Since then, it’s been fairly quiet, and we mostly believed it was shelved or canceled altogether. It’s pretty cool that they never let go of it.
The Zatanna logo seems like a reworked version of her solo comic book title card, while the Batgirl graphic looks entirely original. Both of them are coming off to me like animated series, rather than movies… though it could just be me. Personally, I would be very happy to see more TV series from DC, as nearly every show they’ve has produced over the last few years has been phenomenal.
However, in the end, I’m fairly certain most of these logos were simply thrown together with several of them being placeholders. For instance, we know what the Peacemaker logo looks like, and it’s not that. They also reused the old logo from the Kids’ WB Static Shock cartoon to represent the upcoming project involving the Milestone superhero.
Either way, color me interested. I’m very happy to see AT&T looking deeper into the DC universe for more content. Zatanna is easily one of my favorite characters as a fan of magic in any medium, so I’m excited.
What do you think? Are you ready for a Zatanna or Batgirl project? Are there any other characters you’d like to see get attention? Let us know.
