Check out this awesome new trailer for Gotham! It features footage from episodes that have been shot up to this point and clues us in as to where the overall story may go during the inaugural season. The more exciting points reveal characters such as Professor Pyg and Victor Zsasz. Pyg is one of my favorite villains to be introduced into the Batman mythos in recent years, so I’m interested to see how he will be portrayed. He’s a very wild person and had to be tamed a bit on the animated series Beware The Batman; I hope the gloves come off here.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the words “Arkham City” when viewing the map of Gotham. It’s a nice little Easter Egg as we further establish the origins of Arkham Asylum.
I really don’t mind seeing some villains come into play earlier than one would expect and am well aware that most are a reaction to Batman’s emergence. However, let’s keep our minds open and enjoy this show as a RE-IMAGINING. Clark Kent met some major villains before becoming Superman on Smallville and it still worked well. The one villain I want to see tied to Batman for certain is Joker.
