‘The Batman Part II’ Set Photos Teases [SPOILERS!] as the Villains

New set photos and videos leaked that might give the most substantial hints to who the villains are for The Batman Part II.

The set photos are of a protest in Gotham City and Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne seems to be stuck in the middle of it. It appears that Wayne is stepping out a courthouse and faced with a throng of protestors.

However the most intriguing aspect is not the protesters themselves, but what the signs they are holding say.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS ALERT!

The signs read “Re$i$t,” “I’m coming for you next,” “Your Greed is Killing Us,” “Oligarchs gotta go,” “The richer get richer,” “Eat the rich,” “One day the poor will have nothing,” and “Gotham is for justice.”

Okay. So it seems like The Batman Part II will maybe deal with class warfare within Gotham City. This is not the first time a Batman movie has dealt with this topic. The Dark Knight Rises also had themes about class division and how it affects Gotham. Heck, it is not even a new theme within The Batman franchise.

The previous film delved into the horrors of how well-intentioned politicians and philanthropists try to help the underprivileged, but end up making things worst. The origin of the Riddler is based on how the Gotham Renewal project failed him and swore to make all of the masterminds behind it pay, including Bruce Wayne.

But there is one more protest sign that might make the class division issue even more granular. And it really strongly indicates the next antagonist of the film.

EVEN MORE SPOILERS FOR ‘THE BATMAN PART II’

Are you ready?

“Court of Fowls”

This seems to confirm that the Court of Owls are the primary villains of The Batman Part II. This would be consistent with director Matt Reeves’ comment that the next villain “has never been done in a movie before”. Also, if the sequel leans heavily into themes about significant wealth gaps, the Court of Owls are perfect. They are an old rich oligarchy that influences history by sending secret spies and assassins names the Talons.
Even more perfect, what if Sebastian Stan’s role is not Harvey Dent, but actually a Talon? He already has a ton of experience playing a secret assassin that changes the course of history.
Of course, there are no firm confirmations that the Court are the villains. However we can only hope it is true!

The Batman Part II hits theaters February 18, 2028.
