If you are ever in the area, Indiana has its own Batman Museum that is dedicate to the Batman ’66 television show.

The Fiberglass Freaks’ Batman Museum is family owned and operated. It opened on October 31st, 2024 in Logansport, Indiana. The museum is run by founder and Batman fan Mark Racop. Racop is also the only licensed seller and builder of 1966 Batmobile replicas. Yup, you heard right. Racop is the only guy allowed to make the ’66 version of the Batmobile.

Racop is the owner of the Fiberglass Freaks factory. On top of featuring the Batmobile, Racop also has a collection of hundreds of toys, props, and costumes from the Adam West and Burt Ward television show and movies. The owner’s collection started way back when he was a kid.

“I’ve been a huge fan since I was two years old. Way back in 1967, I saw my very first episode of Batman, where Robin was about to be stamped into a comic book by the Joker. It made me a lifelong Batman fan. From then, I started collecting. I’m the kind of kid that kept my boxes for my toys. So, I’d play with the toy, but then I’d put it back in the box afterward. My brother was the kind that smashed toy cars together and blew them up. So, it was quite the challenge to keep everything that I had in good shape, but a few pieces in my collection did survive from when I was about 4 or 5 years old.”

The Museum’s Batman ’66- Style Props and Sets

On top of the 2,000+ items on display, the museum boasts of full replicas of the sets. This includes the Wayne Manor study, the Bat-Cave, and-of course- the Batmobile.

“We have a Wayne Manor study with the sliding bookcase. We have the climbing wall, where people can stand up on the wall sideways and pretend to do the climb. We also have full-size statues of Batman and Robin, Joker, Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman, as well as Barbara Gordon and Batgirl alongside the world’s first Batgirl Cycle replica.

“Downstairs, we have the bulk of the memorabilia and the Batcave with the atomic pile/nuclear reactor and the bottom of the Batpoles from the study. My first Batmobile is in the Batcave. We’ve also got a theater showing documentaries about Batman. Then the final room in the museum is dedicated to the Futura, the car that became the Batmobile. We also have a gift shop selling licensed merchandise.”

While guests are able to take pictures of the sets and do a photo-op to reenact Batman and Robin walking sideways along a building, there is one thing they are not allowed to do. They cannot slide down the Bat-Poles. According to Racop, he asked but his lawyer and insurance agent forbade it.

The Fiberglass Freaks Batman Museum is located on 525 East Market in downtown Logansport, Indiana 46947. Admission is $15.99 adult; $8.99 children; $2.00 discount for seniors, military, and first responders; with children 5 and under are free.
