Warner Bros. Animation announced that all 10 episodes of season two of Batman: The Caped Crusader will drop on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Just like season one, the animated series will stream on the Amazon Prime platform. Additionally, they released a bunch of new images that teases returning and new foes. Returning faces include Barbara Gordon, Renee Montoya, Commissioner Gordon, and most surprisingly Harley Quinn.

The new characters introduced in the season include the Riddler,  a gender-swapped Mad Hatter, the Joker, and Carrie Kelley. Yup, Carrie Kelley will appear- although the image is of her dressed in the Gray Ghost outfit, not Robin.

For those who don’t know, Grey Ghost was an in-universe fictional movie serial character that inspired Bruce Wayne’s Batman persona. Why Carrie is dressed in the Gray Ghost suit is beyond me.

Reimagining New Characters for ‘Batman: Caped Crusader’

The Riddler looks like he got the best looking design upgrade. He looks pretty damn suave in his purple tinted glasses and swapping out his traditional bowler hat for a fedora. While the Joker is indeed in one of the preview images, he is in the shadows and mostly unseen. However, his pose is a direct reference to his first appearance in the original Batman #1. There the Joker was more morose and serious. It would be cool to see the series take inspiration from that version of the Joker, instead of the goofier version.

Meanwhile, it looks like this version of the Mad Hatter is also going back to the original character conceit. Instead of the Alice in Wonderland theme from Batman: The Animated Series,  this version of the Hatter seems more into just hats. She also seems to have her own talk show.

There are two images that I am unclear who they are. One image shows an armored figure with a futuristic gun. The other is a trench coat-wearing figure in the middle of a blaze while wearing a full-faced black mask.

Amazon Prime confirmed that Scarecrow and Roxy Rocket will make appearances in the show. It is possible that the armored figure is Roxy, since it almost resembles a DC Comics heroine the Bulleter. It also seems like the trench coat man is Scarecrow, even though the round eyes and dark mask combination makes me think more of the Talon from the Court of Owls.

Batman: Caped Crusader hits Amazon Prime on July 31st.
