In the midst of this worldwide pandemic, while we’re all hunkering in self-quarantine to stay as healthy as possible, the world is reacting in responsible ways by closing several businesses and cancelling huge events that bring us joy. However, there’s one thing that will continue to move forward in spite of everything: comic books. New Comic Book Day is almost upon us and, though we should be careful to visit our local comic book store, we still have the option to grab digital copies, if you are a carrier or you have a compromised immune system.

Over in periodicals, we’ve got quite the slate this week, with titles for whichever mood you’re in (doom and gloom, seeking horror-filled escapism, or just needing some dang comedic relief).
Yes, before you ask, it’s a coincidence that DCeased: Unkillables #2 is hitting shelves next Wednesday. We’ve been preparing for this Anti-Life Equation since Summer 2019.
And it’s also a coincidence that the GCPD is Jokerized on the cover of Batman #91. “The Joker War” has been creeping up on Batman for months. We need a hero like Batman (or even Harley Quinn??) at a time like this! (Check out Eric Lee’s review on Batman #90 here)
Robin’s Turning 80
If you’re in the mood for something a little less “the world around me” and something more “take me away from all this” we’ve got the oversized Robin 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular #1, the second issue of Joe Hill and Stuart Immonen’s Plunge (ok, ok it’s horror… you can’t escape!), or the perfect getaway-from-everyday comic Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #9.
