DC Reveals Absolute Robins

DC Comics unveiled the first look at Absolute Robins. Yes, that is Robins as in plural.

What is even crazier is that the Robins are not at all what comic fans expect from the traditional mainstream universe. The team of Robins look less like the Gotham crimefighters and more like the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers or the Super Sentais. They are a team of color-coded agents complete with color-themed motorcycles and a big effin’ mech robots. This is a very different direction than what Dark Knight News speculated previously.

The cover for Absolute Batman #20 features five different Robins. To be fair, we are not sure if they even go by the name Robin. However they do sport the classic “R” Robin badge on their chest.

The various Robins are colored: red, green, and black; blue and grey; green and black; yellow and black; and purple and black. Now if we were to look at the roster of Batman’s sidekicks, we are going to speculate which Bat-family members will make their Absolute debut in issue 20.

Who are the Absolute Robins?

The purple and black Robin seems to be Stephanie Brown aka Spoiler. The color scheme is the same as her Spoiler color scheme. Also this appears to be the only female Robin on the cover, which lines up with Stephanie being the only female Robin in mainstream DC continuity (sorry Carrie Kelly).

The yellow and black Robin in the back seems to be Duke Thomas aka Signal. Those colors matches Duke’s Signal outfit.

Now where it gets tricky is identifying with Sentai Robin is Damian Wayne, Tim Drake, Jason Todd, and Dick Grayson. It makes sense that Dick would be the biggest mech with the machine gun. However, we have already seen Absolute Dick Grayson. He first appeared in Absolute Batman #9 as a disgruntled EMT medic. Maybe Dick could be the blue medic-looking mech in the back with a cross symbol.

Maybe the main red and green mech is Jason Todd or Tim Drake. What is less likely is Damian. Since Absolute Batman is a young 24 year old man, it would not make sense for Damian to exist as his son.

Absolute Batman #20 hits comic shops in May 13, 2026.
