Over two seasons of TV, fans have been patiently waiting to see Titans’ Dick Grayson don the Nightwing costume. The promise, even to actor Brenton Thwaites, was that Nightwing was the endgame for all of Dick’s character development. Rumor has it that we were supposed to have seen Nightwing by the end of season 1, but now, a full season later, fans no longer have to wait in agony. With the season finale trailer, we finally have our first official look at Nightwing.
In an epic moment, where Deathstroke goes to confront the Titans, a new costumed hero appears, clad in black and equipped with electric escrima sticks. This is our first official look at Nightwing in action.

It’s all us now
Packed with so much action in just a minute. This season finale looks to be an insanely exciting episode, seemingly ready to trump the one from season 1. While it was a treat to see Batman in action in the season 1 finale, it’s hard to compare that to a whole team in action. I’m sure Nightwing fans will easily prefer his debut to Batman’s.
Also, if you want actual close look at the costume with some behind the scenes info, take a look at this clip from this week’s DC Daily:
Laura Jean Shannon, speciality costume designer on Titans, speaks to the conception of the costume and the careful thought put into it so that it fits in their world. The colors are pretty spot-on and I like their stylized take on it. Of course, it is armored rather than the tight leather onesie we know from the comics. It looks lightweight, while still being able to retain some sort of protection. I also like the idea of having the blue tail extend further down his abdomen. It’s a nice stylistic choice. Similar to the Robin costume before it, it looks like a realistic take on a superhero costume.
Be sure to check out the rest of the episode to hear James Tynion IV speak extensively on his time on Detective Comics and his upcoming take on the flagship title, Batman.
The Titans season finale, fittingly entitled “Nightwing,” (It comes full circle with the season 1 finale entitled “Dick Grayson.”) will air on DC Universe on November 29, 2019
