A team of villains and anti-heroes, whoever thought this would make a good film? DC did, and they provided us with a great character driven Suicide Squad movie in 2016.

After James Gunn left Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, a lot of fans were left wondering what was next for the director. Thankfully, DC have swooped him up for their Suicide Squad 2 project, tentatively titled either The Suicide Squad, or Suicide Squad: El DoradoGunn has already discussed his team roster, led by Idris Elba’s Deadshot. It seems like he has taken a deep dive into DC’s villain archives, pulling out the likes of Ratcatcher, King Shark, Polka-Dot Man and Peacemaker.

John Ostrander and Kim Yale’s comic run in the late 1980s, is pretty much responsible for the modern era of Suicide Squad stories and characters. It seems like Gunn will be drawing inspiration from it, especially when it comes to the relatively obscure baddies.

These are still rumors, which have yet to be actually confirmed by the director, but everything coming out about the film so far is setting it up to be an incredible production.
