Director Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy took a realistic approach to Batman’s world, making many of us believe all of his gadgets could exist in our world. Look no further because Ford is taking that big step.
ScreenRant is reporting that the company has filed a patent for a new design. The idea is to build a motorized device in their vehicles that can help create a back-up form of transportation. Sound familiar? Here’s a hint: watch the Batpod pop out of the Tumbler in The Dark Knight.
To better understand what this means, Gizmodo has provided a picture.
The device would store a battery, handlebars and seat in the trunk of the car and would assemble with one of the wheels to use in a busy area, or possibly as a backup in case your car breaks down.
While this is an exciting concept, don’t get your hopes up yet. The idea is just being discussed and Ford hasn’t made any announcements about bringing this project to life.
Still, Christopher Nolan and company should be proud.
