In what seems to be a little bitter or conceded comment Wally Pfister the D.P on Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy had this to say about the Avengers:
“What’s really important is storytelling. None of it matters if it doesn’t support the story,” Pfister, who won an Academy Award for “Inception,” said when asked about the most crucial part of shooting a film. “I thought ‘The Avengers’ was an appalling film. They’d shoot from some odd angle and I’d think, why is the camera there? Oh, I see, because they spent half a million on the set and they have to show it off. It took me completely out of the movie. I was driven bonkers by that illogical form of storytelling.”
I do think that his quote is taken a little out of context from other sites reporting about this. It seems he was mostly referring to the way the Avengers D.P shot the film not the actual quality of the film. Also while I do personally agree with Wally, that the Dark Knight Rises was a much better film, Avengers was fun pop corn. Also I would also even get controversial and say while again DKR is a better movie overall, if were just going by pure action scenes, Avengers had better shot and choreographed action. So Wally stop being so cocky your better than that.
