Robert Pattinson said that filming for The Batman Part II will start at the end of 2025.
At the red carpet premiere for Pattinson’s new movie Mickey 17, he revealed that he is very excited for the sequel. He said he could not share any plot points of the movie but he promises that “it’s cool, though, it’s cool.”

Pattinson also acknowledge that it is a long wait time between The Batman and its sequel. He attributed part of the delays due to COVID.
“It’s a while…everything feels so long ago because COVID just erased three years.”
However, COVID is not the only reason for Part II’s delay. DC Studios co-president James Gunn also said that Part II‘s long wait is to give director Matt Reeves more time with script-writing, as well as the writers and actors strike in 2023.
How Does This Line Up with What Andy Serkis Said?
This new filming start date is a bit different from what Alfred actress Andy Serkis reported this past July. Serkis reported that production starts in early 2025. Of course, it is early 2025 now and we have not heard any news about The Batman Part II shooting yet. So, Serkis was a bit off with his projections.
Speaking of Andy Serkis, he reported that he also got a peek at the story for Part II. In an interview at the comic convention MegaCon, Serkis said that he is excited for the story and how he can’t wait to see the movie version of it.
“I am as hungry for it as you all are. [Matt Reeves] told me the story of The Batman 2, and I was so excited for it.”
We all are excited for it, Andy. We all are…
The Batman Part II will hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
