Alfred actor Andy Serkis has given an exciting update on when The Batman: Part II will begin filming, and it’s sooner than any of us expected!
When at the ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024, Serkis spoke to a crowd, stating that Part II will begin principal photography as soon as early 2025. However, don’t expect Serkis to reveal more than that, as he askari stated that he barely knows how much he’ll be in the movie, much less any important plot details. What we wouldn’t give for a villain reveal, or one bit of new casting!
Basically, I know nothing about the movie other than that I’ve just found out that we’re probably likely to be starting filming early next year. Therefore, if you do the math, it’ll be a year and a half after that.”

Initially, the plan was for Part II, to begin filming in the winter of 2023. However, the actor and writer strikes pushed the filming back to 2025. Consequently, the movie had now delayed until 2026. This feels like quite a long way from now, but rest assured that the time’s being used wisely.
The beloved British actor told the audience that director Matt Reeves is using the time to work on the script. He did have some pleasant words to say about his collaborators, especially Reeves and co-star Robert Pattinson.
I know that Matt is working really hard on the script. Matt Reeves being Matt Reeves, the extraordinary filmmaker that he is, I can only assume that it’s going to be another brilliant script, because I thought what he did with that first film was pretty amazing. I loved working with Rob Pattinson, and I really look forward to playing Alfred once more.”
When he was pressed again for more plot details, Serkis started jokingly stringing the audience along.
Well, there is a huge arc which you’ve got — nah, I’m not giving away anything.”
What a tease! Imagine if he’d revealed a Court Of Owls or Hush story, we’d all lose it!
The Batman: Part II its currently set to arrive in theaters in North America on October 2, 2026. We at Dark Knight News can’t wait for another installment in this series. For now we’ll just have to fill our time being excited for Max Reeves’ ‘The Penguin’ series.
