CW Casts Villain for Annual Crossover Event

Earlier this year we learned that Ruby Rose has been cast as Batwoman in CW’s Arrow-verse and will be making her debut during the annual crossover event between the shows. Just last week, we also learned that Cassandra Dean Amell and Elizabeth Tulloch will be playing Nora Fries and Lois Lane respectively during the event.

Now we know who will be drawing all of these heroes together to do battle. We have our villain.

Jeremy Davies (Lost, Justified) has been cast as John Deegan, a doctor at Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane in Gotham City, who might be crazier than the inmates he treats (a common theme it seems for that place). His machinations will draw Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), The Flash (Grant Austin) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) to Gotham City. Tyler Hoechlin will also be reprising his role as Superman in the crossover.

Upon arriving in Gotham City, the heroes will be introduced to Batwoman, who patrols the streets of Gotham. It’s still unknown what kind of role, if any, Batman himself will have when we first step foot inside his city in CW’s DC Universe.

Assuming our heroes will be venturing into Arkham Asylum itself, it always poses a great opportunity to sprinkle in Easter Eggs of other characters in the mythos. Harley Quinn appeared early in Arrow in a very small cameo, will we see her return? With Nora Fries in the fold, is it safe to say that Mr. Freeze hasn’t been created yet? Or perhaps she was cured and she’s there visiting him? Will we hear the giggles of a deranged clown?

The possibilities are truly endless, but we’ll just have to wait to see what they have in store for us when the annual crossover event begins on December 9th in The Flash.
