Warner Bros. studios reportedly has two different cuts of The Batman that have been screened for test audiences.
Not much is known, or even if the news is true about the multiple cuts. However, multiple unnamed sources claim that one version features a character and and another does not.
Last month, the Internet went a little crazy about Barry Keoghan maybe, maybe not, playing the Joker in Matt Reeves’s upcoming The Batman. Don’t look to us for answers on that one, but we can tell you this: Multiple sources tell us that Warner Bros. has been testing two different cuts of “The Batman,” one with a certain actor, one without, and the final test screening occurred last week, with the decision now made as to which version the studio likes.
It seems like the test audience will decide which version of the film is released to the general population.
Multiple Cuts of ‘The Batman’
What does that mean for the film? If the studio’s testing different versions of the movie that features a character, does that dramatically change it? Who is the mysterious character who may or may not be in the film? The way that the Hollywood Reporter article is written, it may imply that maybe the Barry Keoghan‘s maybe-Joker character is in one of the versions of the movie.
Of course this is just rumors stacked upon more rumors. At this point, it’s all speculation. There’s been no official confirmation on any of it.
When The Batman does hit theaters, it will probably lead to fans clamoring for the release of the alternative cut out of curiosity. It would be interesting to see what differences are there in the two versions of the movie.
A version of The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4th, 2022.
