“The Terminus Agenda” – Part One

Writers: Adam Glass & Christopher Priest
Artist: Bernard Chang
Color Artist: Marcelo Maiolo
Letterer: Rob Leigh

Wow! I mean just WOW! This comic is just mental. This issue kicks off the “Terminus Agenda” storyline and kicks it off well. Could this story give us the Teen Titans’ Final Showdown with Deathstroke?

The pressure of starting a new story arc is a daunting process. To start one with one of DC’s most iconic characters is no doubt a terrifying thought. The team however have nailed this, I’m already excited for the rest of the run. Pitting the Teen Titans against Deathstroke is handled brilliantly and the care that Adam Glass has put into writing these characters is really starting to pay off.

The issue explores each member’s nuances further and reminds us all exactly why Slade Wilson is not to be messed with.

For long term readers and fans of the titans there are plenty of nods to previous storylines. There’s a great piece showcasing the Man of Steel. However, my favourite thing was the subtle nod to Marv Wolfman and George Perez, as it shows that the current team respects their predecessors, even though they are doing their own thing.

Conclusion

The team of Glass and Chang is fast becoming the new powerhouse of DC. The art is stunning, as always, and Bernard’s ability to draw anyone from DC’s roster highlights what a talent he is. Coupled with excellent writing from Adam (and Deathstroke writer, Priest, who co-wrote this incredible issue), we are in for a real treat moving forward. The crossover has begun and I am excited.
