New Jersey residents are about to have a heck of a time. Todd Phillip’s Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix has raised an international buzz. Folks are curious about how it’ll be laid out, and what is the story behind the new make-up? DC-fans and movie-fans alike are invested.

Grant Wilfley Casting, Inc. (via NJ.com) has placed a casting call for paid extras in the New Jersey Area. The try-outs will be taking place in Jersey City on September 30th and November 9th, and again in Newark on October 15th and 16th.

The film carries an arsenal of fantastic talent next to Joaquin Phoenix, such as Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, and Marc Maron. Alec Baldwin was to initially play Thomas Wayne, unfortunately, after hearing that the portrayal of Bruce Wayne’s father would be Trump-like, he stepped down and has now been replaced by Brett Cullen.

Those interested in the role should email [email protected] (a codename for the film’s title) with your name, age, phone number, height, weight, clothing sizes, available dates, and a current photo. The rate of pay will be $14.3/hour ($143 for 10 hours of work).

In a recent interview by ComicBook, Phoenix speaks on why he finds this film unique:

I wouldn’t quite classify this as like any genre. I wouldn’t say it’s a superhero movie, or a studio movie or a … It feels unique, and I think more than anything, and probably the most important thing, is Todd seems very passionate about it and very giving, and so that’s exciting. I think, underneath the excitement of these films, and the size of them, there are these incredible characters that are dealing with real life struggles. And sometimes that is uncovered and exposed, and sometimes it isn’t, and so I always felt, like, there were characters in comics that were really interesting and deserve the opportunity to be kind of studied. And so I think that’s what Todd sees appealing about this idea.

Joker will be a stand-alone film from the DC Comics Film universe and is directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover and Due Date) along with executive producers Martin Scorcese. It’s expected release date is October 4th, 2019. Being an extra on this film could be fan’s dream come true!

The line-up of upcoming DC films to hit theaters is Aquaman on December 21st, Shazam (April 5, 2019), Wonder Woman 1984 (November 1, 2019), and Birds of Prey (February 7, 2020).
