Todd Phillips Teases Production on ‘Joker’ Movie

Director Todd Phillips took to Instagram to tease the start of production on the Joker movie.

Phillips posted on Instagram a black and white picture of him with smoke in his face. The post is accompanied with the cryptic message: “Here we go”.

Given that Phillips’ next project is the Joaquin Phoenix-led Joker film, fans surmised the message to mean the beginning of production.

Phillips is not the only one prepping for the flick. Phoenix has been seen losing a good amount of weight for the Joker role.

Phoenix’s appearance is noticeably thinner and more gaunt. Additionally, the actor’s hair is longer, a look that is reminiscent of Heath Ledger’s Joker. Looks like both Phoenix and Phillips are gearing up for the film.

The Joker movie hits due to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
