Batman actor Robert Pattinson has discussed more of his thoughts on the character, as well as comparing his new role to his time on Twilight.

On Today, Pattinson emphasized to the interviewer how he does not believe that Batman is a true superhero.

Batman’s not a superhero. It doesn’t count. You need to have like magical powers to be a superhero.

Of course, arguing about the term “superhero” is all semantics. Many people may disagree with Pattinson’s strict definition of “superhero”. Interviewer Willie Geist appeared to be one of those people. The interviewer quickly followed up, telling Pattinson how Batman has a cape. Pattinson relented his position, saying,
The cape. I will give you that one.

On ‘Twilight’ Fans

Pattinson also discussed how Twilight jump-started his career into super-fame. When he starred in the popular film franchise, he went from obscure to rockstar-status. However, now Pattinson is hoping that experience will not repeat as he preps to play Batman.

There’s a part of me that thinks it’s impossible, what happened in Twilight, because it was just so sudden. Now, I’m kind of… hoping it won’t be people hanging outside of my place. I think I’m kind of boring and old now. So, it’s fine.

Hopefully, for Pattinson’s sake, the fandom will not be so overwhelming, but he’s also tempting fate by accepting the role of the most famous comic character of all time. Of course, there’s going to be a natural built-in fandom for Batman, but only time will tell if he thinks the Bat-fans are crazier than Twi-hards.
