Hush writer Jeph Loeb will write Batman/ Wonder Woman: Truth- a team-up adventure with the Dark Knight and Amazon Princess.

Loeb and artist Jimmy Cheung are the creative team for the comic Truth. The comic opens with Batman and Wonder Woman on a hunt to find those responsible for stealing her Lasso of Truth. The culprits? The Joker and Harley Quinn!

However, before Bat-fans get up in arms about how the Joker and Harley haven’t been a couple for well over a decade, don’t worry. Truth takes place in the past continuity. In fact, according to the official description, Truth takes place specifically in the immediate aftermath of the original Hush storyline. Check out the official solicitation below.

Batman and Wonder Woman team up for a classic caper brought to you by superstar talent writer Jeph Loeb (Batman, Superman / Batman) and artist Jim Cheung (Justice League)! The Lasso of Truth has been stolen, and the Caped Crusader and Amazon Princess race to ensure a safe return before it falls into the wrong hands. You won’t want to miss the aftermath of Batman: HUSH featuring the devious duo foolish enough to steal from Wonder Woman… the Joker and Harley Quinn!

The Possible Implications of ‘Truth’

A few interesting takeaways from the comic.  First of all, the fact that it takes place immediately post-Hush makes things intriguing. Does this tale inform anything about the current “Hush 2” comic storyline? So far, in “Hush 2”, there has not been any indication of Wonder Woman. Also, the cover image shows Catwoman. How big of a part does she play? At the end of Hush, her and Batman broke-up and seemed to be on the outs. What could bring her back to help the Caped Crusader? Speaking of Catwoman, she is depicted in her 2000’s outfit with the goggles. However, Wonder Woman is in her current armor, complete with the war skirt. Is this a visual continuity flub-up or is there an in-story reason for this?

Finally, one wonders if this story relates to the Hush epilogue that Loeb and artist Jim Lee created for the Batman: Hush- 20th Anniversary Edition hardcover collection.  The new epilogue depicted a defeated Hush swimming out of the river only for the Joker and Harley to hold him at gunpoint. Will this new story feature Hush and whatever happened to him and the Joker and Harley?

Incidentally, the solicitation also does not specify if this is a limited series, ongoing, or just a one-shot.
