Reacher actor Alan Ritchson has expressed multiple times how he wants to play at Batman, even saying that he’d do it for free.

On a Wired “Answering the Web’s Most Searched Questions” video, Ritchson encountered the question “Is Alan Ritchson playing Batman?” Ritchson took time to reiterate his excitement to play the Caped Crusader if he ever got the chance. Additionally, he also amusingly reflected on how the rumor keeps on coming back again and again, despite Gunn’s insistence that it’s not true.

“What’s amazing to me about this rumor of the Batman, or the Batman desire and the zeitgeist, is the fact that James Gunn has personally announced publicly on his Twitter, or X or whatever, ‘LOL, he’s not playing Batman. He is not playing Batman!’ And this thing will not die.

“I get asked every day if I’m playing Batman. Yeah, would I play Batman? Yes. Would I pay handsomely to be Batman? You wouldn’t even have to pay me to be Batman. I would dawn the suit. ‘Gotham is mine.’ Look at that, I don’t even have to practice. It just comes out naturally.”

Now that sounds like a dude who is committed to wanting to be Batman!

Alan Ritchson and the Batman Rumor

Fans have been speculating that Alan Ritchson would be the perfect casting for James Gunn’s DCU Batman. Presumably, the DCU Batman would be an older man since Gunn plans to have him introduced at the same time as his son Damian Wayne in Brave and the BoldRitchson is 42 years-old, which is a good age to sire a 12-years-old son.

What do you think? Would Ritchson be amazing as the Dark Knight? Or is there another actor who’d be better for the part?
