Ivy and her crew have been through a stupid amount of drama recently. There are no breaks for the wicked. Poison Ivy #26 starts with a Bang! Let’s tune in for, hopefully, a little bit of rest and recuperation.

Regrowth, Renew, Rejuvenate

I don’t even know where we are in this storyline anymore! So much has happened over the course of this run. G. Willow Wilson has done so much with Poison Ivy and her character arc that she is quite literally not the same person as when we started this series. Poison Ivy #26 is a prime opportunity to showcase Ivy’s new lifecycle. Wilson has the ability to smoothly traverse any craziness to bring us amazing character moments. Once again I would like to show my love for Janet from HR. I think at this point, I love her as much as she loves Ivy. Janet has such “I’m a normal woman who has been thrust into this crazy situation and I don’t know WHAT IS HAPPENING” vibes. She just needs a break, but Wilson has other ideas.

G. Willow Wilson has once again given me friendships/relationships I didn’t know I needed. We get to see a lot of Janet from HR in Poison Ivy #26, and her new found friendships. Being able to pull in all corners of the Ivyverse so neatly without it being too out there is just magical. We know Janet is a sassy woman, but Wilson has given her some cracking lines that help flesh out her character more.

Everything’s going swimmingly

Marcio Takara is back and we can tell. There is something about his style that just fits so well with Ivy’s character. It might be because of the flowy Imagery he uses, and that goes well with the naturally flowing essence of Poison Ivy. When you mix that with the color work of Arif Prianto there are some stunning outcomes. Poison Ivy #26 has some water scenes that are amazing to look at. They feel so realistic and I know the elements are some of the hardest things to depict is art. So hats off to the artist team! That was definitely a stand out for me this issue.

Conclusion

Here we are again. Starting a new arc and loving it. There is so much more to explore with these characters and their interpersonal relationships. I can not wait to see more of them all and their growth soon!
