“Beast World” is here and the Titans are fighting to save the world. What can they do when the fight comes to their front door, in the face of an old friend? Let’s jump into Titans #6

An Approaching Tempest

If you’re not up to date on Titans, Titans: Beast World and Titans: Beast World Tour. Then you need to stop reading this review. Go, grab, and devour all of them, and then come back.

The world has been plunged into chaos and numerous sinister parties are to blame. First and foremost, there’s a former resident of Starfire’s home planet that we must point the finger at… and I’m not talking about that giant evil starfish monster.

As we saw in the last pages of Titans issue 5, we know that Brother Eternity is a Tamaranian, what a twist! Usually, when a cult is after the Titans it’s a friend/relative of Raven’s Dad and nothing to do with Kori. Well, the game’s been turned on its head this time, he’s Tamaranian and his endgame was, and has always been, unleashing an ancient demon god from Tamaran  (see Titans: Beast World #1).

We know now that the Beast was thwarted by Beast Boy turning himself into Garro, so this issue gives us a bit of mid-chaos action with some flashbacks and exposition. A lovely balance.

Clash of The Titans

The art in this issue is by the brilliant Travis Moore. I’ve been a huge fan for years, so this was a real treat. Moore’s storytelling and his character’s facial expressions rank amongst the best in modern comics, in my humble opinion.

The writing from the Talented Mr. Taylor also progresses the Titans story as well as the Beast World saga. Sometimes event crossovers can completely consume ongoing series, so it’s nice to have the perfect balance of both. Bravo to all who had a hand in this issue.

Conclusion

Titans #6 will leave you thirsty for more, but fear not! With Beast World tie-ins coming out of the woodwork these days, you won’t have to wait long to see what comes next!
