Ivy and her girl group are here to rock your world. I would totally buy tickets to go see the The Poison Plants band. Pamela’s been collecting strays and we get to see the outcome in Poison Ivy #12A lot of things should be getting slowly better now, so let’s see if Ivy’s got it all handled.

Women In STEM

It’s amazing to see Ivy going back to her roots… pun very much intended. I’ve missed seeing Pamela in the lab, getting into the science of things and really being able to show off her Doctorate. I feel like a lot of people forget that’s who she really is and Poison Ivy #12 highlights this perfectly.

G. Willow Wilson’s doing her most to remind people that Ivy’s a very well rounded character and has a lot of depth. The writing’s been awesome from the start, and this issue’s no different. Wilson clearly knows how to keep an audience captivated, as there are so many threads getting pulled together and tied up. Yet, we still have some open threads that trail off into the distance.

Seeing G. Willow Wilson bring everything together from the last 12 issues has been fantastic and am excited for the new arc that’s coming. There are some fresh elements introduced in this issue that I’m sure will be circled back to at a later time and seeing that happen as a reader is so cool. Knowing that, at some point, we’ll be following these bread crumbs back to this issue makes me want to keep reading, just to see if Pamela can fix everything. Wilson has this talent of making sure the reader’s engaged with the story and intrigued enough to keep returning.

Cosmic Break

Every now and then, I feel that all of us just need to drift off into a space all our own and relax. Let all the harsh realities of life go. That being said, I would like Marcio Takara and Arif Prianto to design mine. There are several parts of Poison Ivy #12 where I was so impressed by the artwork that I had to stop and just stare at the page. I have no idea how to even being to describe the explosion of colour and amazing drawings this team’s created. The amount of incredible imagery we get to see on a monthly basis from these talents is just mind-blowing. What a cool job!

Conclusion

I’m so happy that this comic’s getting a longer run now. I couldn’t imagine having to stop at this issue and say goodbye to the Ivy of today. Wilson’s made me fall in love with this character all over again and this is definitely going to be the revival of Pamela Isley and her poisonous ways. I can’t wait to see what we get from her in the future, will be here for ride and probably love every second of it.
