The Batman and Riddler theme tracks, composed by Michael Giacchino, have been released from the score of Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

Giacchino is an award-winning composer who worked on such blockbuster hits as Spider-Man: Homecoming, Star Wars: Rogue One, and Mission: Impossible. This is a composer who has an impressive resume of already iconic film scores. Now Warner Bros. has released his themes for both Batman and the Riddler.

Check them out below:

The Batman score is pretty intense, right? It feels like a dark, simmering theme. Surprisingly, it is not as percussive or bombastic as Hans Zimmer’s Dark Knight, but feels more like a lot more emotions are inter-played with Batman here and something sinister is breaking through the surface.

Now check out the Riddler’s theme:

Holy cow! Now that is a scary score for the Riddler. It certainly fits with the Zodiac Killer type of character that Paul Dano portrays. He’s creepy, enigmatic, and eerie. Once you are lulled by the score, all of the sudden a big booming piece jolts you. It will certainly be interesting to see how this music plays in the actual The Batman film.

Hopefully, these scores live up to Giacchino’s hype.

The new Batman and Riddler themes feel like they may be as iconic as the past Batman themes. In fact, it seems like this entire score could be a contender for the best Bat music ever.

The Batman hits theaters on March 4, 2022. It will also stream on HBO Max on April 19, 2022.
