It’s a well-known fact that Ayer has always been supportive of Jared Leto’s interpretation of the clown prince of crime. In turn, now Joker is appearing in the Snyder Cut of Justice League, will we also see an Ayer Cut of his Suicide Squad movie? Something that has cropped up recently on the back of Snyder’s cut of the Justice League coming to fruition.
Ayer has made it clear that the version of Suicide Squad movie that comic books fans saw, was not the one that he envisaged being released. Seeing Leto back as Joker could well be the catalyst to seeing his cut come to life.
Either way, Ayer seems to be happy that Leto will be appearing in the Justice League event, particularly as Leto has taken a good amount of flak for his version of the character. It will be interesting to see, no doubt, and it may well sway the Leto naysayers in a different direction.
