In an interview with MTV at SDCC over the weekend, Kevin Smith spoke about potentially directing episodes of the forthcoming Batwoman show.

Having already directed for CW and Berlanti on both The Flash and Supergirl, it wouldn’t be a stretch to see Smith directing an episode or two of the new series, should it be picked up by the studio.

When asked about whether or not he’d get in contact with Greg Berlanti, Smith had this to say:

Last time I texted Greg was from the hospital the night I had the heart attack and stuff ’cause a lot of people were sending text and emails going ‘are you okay?’ and he sent one and I wrote back ‘I’m fine! I’m doing notes on my Flash episode right now’ cause I was sitting there watching Flash and taking down like cut notes and stuff and he’s like ‘bro, you don’t even do the heart attack right. You’re supposed to enjoy it and stuff’ so I would, I would totally reach out to him

Batwoman is set to appear in the next crossover event of the Arrowverse. The character has yet to make her screen debut, yet CW are already in talks to develop a show around Kate Kane. From what we’ve already heard about the representation of the character, it’s pretty comic book accurate.

All we can do now is to wait and see if the show gets picked up. I know I’ve got my fingers crossed it does.

Do you?
