DKN EXCLUSIVE: New Photos From The ‘Batman v Superman’ Set

We’re back with another round of photos from the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice! Being a resident of the Metro Detroit area, some friends and I took a trip to the downtown area to get a glimpse of what we could from this sure to be blockbuster.

Before I proceed, let this be known: we didn’t take these photos with nefarious intent. We’re not paparazzi hiding in the bushes. We were on the front line like other members of the general public. I’ve been a lifelong fan of both Batman and Superman and I never thought I’d see a movie featuring one – let alone two – of my favorite characters roll through my town. Even if I never get to set foot on set proper or witness another day of shooting of this film, this is an experience I’ll never forget and I want to share it with all Batfans willing to take the time to view this. Plus, we aren’t spoiling all that much.

We decided to make our first trip to what are normally the busier areas of Downtown Detroit where much filming seemed to take place yesterday. Most unfortunate for us, we did not get a glimpse of Ben Affleck, though some other spectators apparently had. It seemed like whatever was being filmed continued to follow the devastation of an apparent attack on Metropolis. Cars were scattered, crowds were gathered, emergency vehicles were on hand, and there was still a bit of smoke in the air. What caused the devastation? We’ll have to wait until 2016 to find out. Sweet agony!

Before calling it a day, we headed to the set in the Corktown area that has garnered much attention. The ruins are no doubt part of , if not all, of the Wayne Financial building. Everything may be framed differently in the final product. We got there in time to see firemen and other extras up to something. The firemen were no doubt attending to the devastation – or there just so happens to be a scene involving a bachelorette party in the film. Some passerbys were unaware that a movie was being shot and thought the ruins were just part of Detroit. I’m not joking! When I told other people that it was Batman v Superman, they were instantly excited and snapped a few photos of their own. A man was with his daughter and I told him that he could take her to see the movie in two years and tell her they were there for a small part of it.

That’s it for now. Stay tuned to DKN for more possible accounts of my trips to the set. And don’t forget to check out my colleague Adam Poncharoensub’s “This Week On The ‘BvS’ Set” every Sunday.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. It opens in theaters March 25, 2016.
