In the second huge piece of Lego related news today, we can tell you that the Batman featured in The Lego Movie will get his own spin-off film. This picture will apparently be fast tracked to meet a 2017 release date. The originally planned sequel to The Lego Movie has now been pushed back in favor of the Batman centered spin-off.
Chris McKay, animation supervisor on The Lego Movie, is set to direct with Seth Grahame-Smith providing the screenplay. Will Arnett will reprise his role as the blocky Dark Knight. No release date has been given.
My familiarity with Batman in Lego form is very limited, so perhaps it’s time I catch up. Stay tuned to DKN for more information regarding this project.
