The CW network has ordered a full first season of the Gotham Knights series.

The show deals with the fallout of Bruce Wayne’s death and his adoptive son having to ally himself with the children of the Bat villains who were framed for Batman’s murder. The show will naturally focus on the legacy of Batman and how he impacts people’s lives. It’s unclear which characters will be the main cast of the show other than Spoiler, though it is known that Turner Hayes will play Batman’s son. As it’s been made clear that he will be a “wayward adopted son”, this will most likely be Jason Todd, or someone entirely new.

The Creators Behind ‘Gotham Knights’

Batwoman writers Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux and Natalie Abrams will write for Gotham Knights and Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television will produce the show. Abrams, Fiveash, Stoteraux, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden will be the executive producers, and Danny Cannon will direct and executive produce the pilot episode. It’s also not clear if the show takes place in the established Arrowverse or if it exists in its own separate universe.

A series order indicates that Gotham Knights will have at least one full season and Producer Jonathan Gabay celebrated the news by posting behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram. Amongst the sets, we see the Gotham City Police Department logo and a 1970’s-inspired blue Batman cowl.
