“Being Robin” – Part Five

Well, what an issue Robins #5 is, ladies and gentlemen. Straight from the get-go we’re questioning everything, what’s real and what’s fake. Creating a life for each of the Robins in which everything seems perfect, it was only a matter of time before they figured out something wasn’t quite right.
Simulation’s A Dangerous Game
There are now at least three spin-off series that I’d like to come out of DC Comics now, a version of their own What If? series almost. Seeley does a very good job at painting enough of a tease of a story before ripping it away from our grasp.
Those that remember the end of the last issue, the self-proclaimed “first” Robin, Jenny Wren used advanced technology to pull our heroes into her game. Everything now seems to be falling into place for the mysterious villain as her end goal gets closer and closer with each panel.
There’s still a lot we don’t know about this villain and her plans, but things start becoming clearer towards the end of the issue.
Robins #5 is yet another stellar addition to the series. Tim Seeley’s doing wonderful things at the helm with all of these beloved characters. I really enjoyed the art style and colors in this issue too, as the subtle differences between each simulation are beautiful and they all showcase the talent of Baldemar Rivas and Romulo Fajardo Jr.
Conclusion
Honestly, I can’t rave about this series enough. I love team books and what better than to get one about the world’s greatest sidekicks!
