Batman: Wayne Family Adventures is back again with fun and laughter and – this time – a little bit of angst, for chapters 14 to 17. A chapter is released on WebToons every Thursday and they’re great for brightening any day.
Just For Us
We see a lot more of Bruce in these chapters. Not Batman… Bruce. We see more of how he interacts with his children and how they try to ruin his reputation as Gothams’ billionaire playboy. At least they liven up the boring galas and put on a show. When Damian isn’t threatening to stab the guests, that is. We also get to see Bruce more as a father in these chapters too, and he’s totally one of those ‘my kid is better than your kid’ kind of dads.
Kate Kane is finally introduced into the series and she cares about her families shenanigans about as much as you’d expect. She’s only there for the chaos, but aren’t we all? “Supervising” the younger bats’ attempt to learn how to cook, which of course goes as well as people who’ve never cooked before would go.
As Kane predicted:
This is going to be a disaster.
Conclusion
Slowly but surely, we’re meeting everyone from the Bat-Family and it’s great to see them in this new world. So far, every aspect of the characters, from their design to their known personalities, have been amazing. The topics the creators bring up every are handled wonderfully too. Like Bruce’s role as parent; it’s never been a secret that he isn’t the greatest father figure out there, it’s something that he knows too, but it’s still nice to see him at least try to make an effort to be one, even if it’s not exactly successful. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us next time.
