The next big Batman-title even “Bad Seeds’ will pit the Dark Knight and his allies against Mayor Poison Ivy after she has one tremendously bad night.
After a terrible night in her mayorship, Poison Ivy unleashes hostile prehistoric plant life amongst Gotham City. Now everyone- heroes, villains, and regular citizens- needs to fight and survive this horrific night of terrors. Check out the official solicitation for the “Bad Seeds” event.
Poison Ivy unleashes a desperate act of eco-terror that transforms Gotham into a hostile landscape of prehistoric plant life. Told across one long, dark night, the event unfolds as Gotham’s heroes, villains, and civilians fight to survive.
As Ivy’s plants spread, Gotham begins to mutate—buildings swallowed by vines, streets overtaken by carnivorous flora, and entire neighborhoods reverting to a primordial state. With the Bat-Family hunted, the GCPD fractured under Commissioner Vandal Savage’s militarized rule, and civilians trapped in a city turning against them, Gotham City becomes a living battleground where every chapter brings a new evolution.
“Bad Seeds’ Details and Kick-Off
Matt Fraction and G. Willow Wilson are the two main writers on the books. The main story will play out between Batman and Poison Ivy tiles. However, the ancillary titles like Detective Comics, Batgirl, Batwoman, Catwoman, Nightwing, and Harley Quinn will tie-into the event as well.
The comic event will start at the end of August and run through all of September and October. This means ten weeks of plant-based horrors.
Things kick off with a prelude in Poison Ivy #47. We will see Gotham being sick of Poison Ivy’s mayor antics. But the problem is that she is just getting started. Issue #47 comes out on August 26th.

On the same day of the 26th, the main story begins in Batman: Bad Seeds- Sunset #1. The one-shot is co-written by Fraction and Wilson. Illustrator Giuseppe Camuncoli will provide the art. Sunset depicts Ivy’s antics once the sun goes down on Gotham. There is a massive power outage, but that is just the beginning. To top it off, acting-police commissioner Vandal Savage has his own plans for Batman and his allies.

“Bad Seeds” starts on August 26th.
