I’ve visited some of the biggest American Comic Cons, NYCC and SDCC certainly are the top cons in North America, but for the True, North, Strong and Free– FAN EXPO takes the cake as King of Cons in Canada. Dark Knight News is visiting and excited to check out the scene.

What I’ve loved especially about Canadians conventions, is that fans get a real exclusives when they meet comic writers and artists. The panels, huge but still intimate. What sets Canadian conventions apart? The access. Unlike the overwhelming crowds of some U.S. shows, FAN EXPO delivers a rare blend of massive scale and intimate fan experiences. Meeting comic writers and artists here feels personal. Autographs, sketches, and exclusives aren’t just transactions, they’re real connections with the creators who shape the stories we love. And the panels? Packed with energy, yet somehow still close-knit enough to make every Q&A unforgettable.

Do you love drawing? Whether you’re new to the world of illustration or already taking classes, hone in your skills by taking a class from the talented instructors at The Joe Kubert School. Visit their booth (KS01) on the show floor for free skills lab lessons and to watch master artists at work.
