The new Batman/Spawn crossover artist Greg Capullo has been relentlessly posting teases of his raw pencils for the highly-anticipated meeting between the two comic book icons.

Previously, comics legend Todd McFarlane announced the third Batman and Spawn crossover special with Image Comics with Capullo drawing it. Now the artist has taken to Instagram to release slow teases of his rough pencils for the one-shot.

Among the random images that he’s posted, we’ve see glimpses of Batman facing off against Spawn, the Dark Knightwith the Bat-badge logo, what looks to be young Al Simmons and Bruce Wayne fighting some other kids, and a splash page featuring some Bat-villains.

The Third Batman/Spawn Crossover

Interestingly, we do see a rough of Batman in his more modern day costume – sans Bat-badge – too. Are the images of the Caped Crusader with the yellow oval flashbacks? If so, are they going to reference the original Spawn/Batman crossovers from 1994? That would be pretty neat!

It’s also interesting to note that Alfred appears to be alive in this comic. Which can either prove the flashback theory, or possibly be a hint that this crossover is out of continuity.

The new Batman/Spawn crossover will hit comic shops in December 13.
