It’s oficial, Black Adam has wrapped filming. Star Dwayne Johnson recently confirmed the news via Twitter.

The actor/producer has been on a several year journey to portray the titular character, and has finally seen it to completion. The actor recently re-shared a video that showed him giving a concluding speech to the cast and crew of the blockbuster.

That(‘s) a wrap on BLACK ADAM ⚡

Incredible journey.

Hardest undertaking of my entire career physically & mentally.

Worth every second.

Boundless gratitude to my 1,000+ crew members, actors and director, Jaume Collet-Serra.

The hierarchy of power in DC Universe is changing.

BA ⚡

Johnson used the caption of his Tweet to officially state that Black Adam has concluded filming, as well as to thank those who worked on Black Adam thus far for their dedication. Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam‘s director, was also given a special mention by Johnson (Collet-Serra also directed him in the newly released Jungle Cruise).

Although fans have seen the release of tons of teasers, most of actual details about this film remain secret. The few things we do know are that Black Adam takes place in the same universe as 2019’s Shazam! plus a few details about Johnson’s fellow cast members. Hopefully in the months to come, Johnson and other members of the Black Adam team will continue to share details about the movie.

I personally can’t wait to see this live action version of a truly legendary superhero/antihero, and am excited to witness the shift in “the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe”!

Black Adam hits theaters July 29, 2022.
