NBC’s new office comedy Powerless will have a major change when it premieres. The series was originally about an insurance company set in the DC Universe has a new owner: Bruce Wayne.

In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.

Powerless was screened to a receptive audience in July at San Diego Comic Con. It will be interesting to see how this new development will affect the series. Powerless featured popular DC Comics locations like Atlantis, Gotham, Metropolis and Themyscira. There are no details about if this series will be set in the DC Extended Universe, or will co-exist in the same universe in other shows like Arrow  and The Flash.

Powerless stars Vanessa Hudgens, Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk, Christina Kirk, and Ron Funches, and is set to premiere Thurday, February 2, 2017 on NBC.
