Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is on course to make a domestic box office opening of $154 million. Furthermore, it is predicted that the movie will end up having a total domestic gross of $380 million.

For comparison, Man of Steel grossed $116.6 million on its premiere weekend back in 2013. It then went on to make a total domestic gross of $291 million.

There are a couple of factors that contribute to the Batman v Superman box office prediction. Both Wonder Woman and Batman being in the film help bolster Batman v Superman’s figures over Man of Steel. On the flip side, the idea of a new Batman being introduced so quickly after the popular Dark Knight films, along with the myriad of other upcoming superhero releases softens the film’s buzz slightly.

Regardless, Batman v Superman is going to rock the box office hard when it is released in just two short months.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is coming to theaters March 25, 2016.
