Synopsis: Time and time again, Clayface has proven to be one of Batman’s most elusive adversaries. On the loose once more, it’s time for the Dark Knight to call in some back-up! Guest starring Black Canary and Condor!

Greg Hurwitz’ Clayface story continues in this month’s Batman: The Dark Knight #25, titled “Full House.” Clayface busts out of Arkham (again), and takes some people hostage. That doesn’t sound compelling, but Hurwitz MAKES it compelling. This whole story arc has been about getting to know Clayface, and it’s a tragic story. I’ve always found villains most effective when we don’t know their backstory, and this didn’t seem any different.

But it is.

This issue imparticular shows how losing someone can affect even Gotham’s worst. The way he lashes out is what’s surprising, and even has a guest appearance that will get you to smile.

I can get where people are turned off this Batman story, because it isn’t a Batman story. It’s a Clayface story, and let’s face it, he’s not one of the better known members of the Dark Knight’s rogues gallery.

After this arc is finished, I’ll be damned if he won’t be.
