Following the release of Arkham Knight and all its subsequent DLCs, it seemed like Batfan gamers would be without Batman games for a while (if you don’t count the LEGO Batman games, that is). Thankfully, it wasn’t too long afterward that our saving grace came from Telltale games, makers of interactive story-based games, announced that they were releasing a Batman game. Considering their track record, with titles including the Walking Dead and Back to the Future: The Game, fans were pretty pleased.
Electronic Entertainment Expo, better known as E3, will be taking place this week in LA. In advance of the big gaming event, Telltale games decided to unveil our very first look at Batman – The Telltale Series, along with a ton of information.
The game will be composed of 5 different episodes to be digitally released this summer to consoles, PC/Mac, and mobiles devices. For console owners, there will be a special Season Pass Disc available at retail stores in North America, Latin America, and Europe. As the name suggests, it will work like a season pass and grant you access to each episode as they are released.
The cast will feature notable voice actors in the industry. There’s Troy Baker as Bruce Wayne/ Batman, Travis Willingham (known for his role as Thor in the Marvel cartoons) as Harvey Dent, anime voice actress Laura Bailey playing Selina Kyle, character voice actor Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, and video game voice actor Enn Reitel as Alfred. In-house voice actor Erin Yvette, who played Molly and Bonnie in their Walking Dead series, will be playing Vicki Vale, and playwright Murphy Guyer will be playing Leutenant James Gordon.
That’s an interesting cast of characters. It looks like it’s going to be a relatively grounded storyline with Falcone and Vicki Vale. However, it could easily go elsewhere with Two-Face. Also, of notable interest is that Gordon is not the commissioner. I suppose this will be early in Bats’ career.

As they’ve said before, the look was meant to emulate a comic book, specifically citing the artists Jim Lee, Greg Capullo, and Neal Adams. And they delivered.
And lastly, co-founder an CEO of Telltale games, Kevin Bruner, made a statement about the title:
We’ve been hard at work at Telltale creating an all-new iteration of the iconic Batman story that puts players in the suit of billionaire Bruce Wayne, just as much as it will put them behind the mask, deciding how to carefully navigate a complex drama, rich with action, crime, corruption, and villainy lurking around every corner of Gotham City. The complex life and fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne has lent itself to becoming a bold evolution of the signature ‘Telltale’ role-playing experience, and we couldn’t be more excited as we prepare to debut the series to players across the world this summer.
