During the 75th Anniversary panel at San Diego Comic-Con, David Goyer (Writer: Man Of Steel, The Dark Knight) revealed that the new Superman film would have two names in it. However, this revelation seemed to have gone unnoticed by the majority.
Most probably, Goyer’s reveal went unnoticed because during the same time the 75th Anniversary Superman panel was going on; Fox were delivering their big movie presentations. This might have retracted attention from the Superman panel into the Fox’s one.
During the Superman 75th Anniversary panel, Man Of Steel writer David S. Goyer said, “So over in Hall H at the Warner Bros.–I guess most people know now–at the end of the Warner Bros. panel, Zack came out and he brought Harry Lennix, who plays General Swanwick in Man of Steel and we–actually, Harry read a bit from [The Dark Knight Returns] and so the next film we’re making, we’re already in pre-production, comes out in summer of 2015 and it’s–we’re actually not sure whether the title is Superman vs. Batman or Batman vs. Superman but yes, it’s–that rematch, that combination, the two guys onscreen and that’s happening.”
Goyer only gave two examples of what the title could be and after a little research by ComicBook.com, it transpired that Warner Bros. already owns the domain names “BatmanVsSuperman.com” and “SupermanVsBatman.com”. However, when the word “movie” was added to the end, only the former title was registered by Warner Bros – “BatmanVsSuperman.com”
Another private registration under the name “WorldsFinestMovie.com” was made. However, this was made after the official announcement by Snyder. Most likely this does not belong to Warner Bros. since the registration would have been done beforehand if the company prepared to announce it officially.
So, there you have it folks. Most probably, the sequel to Man of Steel, will be called Batman Vs Superman. What do you think?
