Titans #19 Gives us a glimpse into the life of a recovering super villain. Trying to be something she might not be… Let’s slide in…
Cold Dog, New Trick
What would it be like to join the Justice League? Scratch that. What would it be like to be a Super villain? Nah… one more.. What would it be like to live amongst literal gods? Hmmm ah just one more… What would it be like to be a Super Villain, then join the Justice League and live with literal gods? Who knows… I’ll tell you who knows Killer Frost! Who was a villain, then part of Amanda Waller’s JLA, then after a stint away, she’s now a fully fledged card carrying member of the Justice League *Guitar slaps* But is she fitting in?
Cold Shoulder
The art and writing wonderfully shows us a mind full of self doubt. Seeing people laughing, are they talking about you? Hearing people talking, that sounded like a jab at you? Is this all in Caitlin’s head? Or are the Justice League just superpowered mean girls? You’ll have to read this issue to find out. I’m intrigued to see where this particular element of the overarching stories goes. I’d hate for it to be a one and done element. It was really entertaining.
On a purely Titans related note, the interactions in this issue were on point. Nightwing, trying his hardest not to back seat drive the leadership role now with Donna, as well as Roy putting his foot in his mouth about Raven. It felt like a real sibling charged series of events. Great stuff.
Conclusion
Titans #19 is a great read for many reasons, so go out and grab yourself a copy now!
