Two-Face #5 is upon us, and for readers more lore is coming to light as the plight of who Harvey Dent is unfolds. The trial has taken a toll on Harvey as he struggles to piece his stability back together. There was a lot of action, self-reflection, and information last we saw The White Church. Harvey faced himself and won, for now. But chaos is around the corner and she won’t be denied.

Baldemar Rivas graces us with another stunning cover. It features a craps table with The White Church on the green felt table and Harvey running from Die as she throws her trick dice. It is detailed and colorful, horrifying and captures the attention. Love it. Let’s dig in.

The Die Is Cast

After the events of Two-Face #4, we rejoin Harvey as he is in hiding.  Lake has taken over his visual role in The White Church ensuring justice has been happening the last few months.  But if there is anything Harvey has been ruminating on it is this. How can a man be half good if all he does is bad? It is a mantra he goes over again and again as he watches from afar the goings on of court. Lake brings his justice to the courtroom but he still hasn’t figured out the whole scope of the nightly activities of his other half.

Two-Face #5 blows the roof off the court as Die makes her presence known, as well as her terms. She wants Dent, her Dent to be precise. Die is more than willing to let all in the room’s fate rest on the roll of the dice. If it gets her what she wants. After all, she is a part of HIS plan.  But just who has the current plan in play? And how does Die fit into it? Harvey has definitely set many plans into play, but his endgame is unclear…

Utter Chaos

The introduction of Die in Two-Face #5 is enlightening to say the least. All of Harvey’s chickens are coming home to roost whether he is ready to face them or not. The consistent twinges of fear are unique to see on his face, but his determination to be better is a reflection of the man’s drive. Also, a really nice touch is the gamble between Lake and Die, Lake shows no fear as she puts it all on the line. May the odds stay ever in her favor as we see an homage to a trick Batman has used against Harvey more than once. Once again this team has sat us in our seats, ready and on the edge.

Conclusion

Christian Ward has given us even more pathways in the story for Two-Face #5, adding to those given in Two-Face #4. There is a lot of things still to come to light and I know I am so excited to see where this story is leading, especially with an ending like that! Guess we are on the edge of our seats together friends, til next time!
