DC has announced that a new Outsiders 12-issue Maxi-Series will feature Batwoman and Luke Fox in starring roles.

Colin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing (also known as the Hivemind) will write and Robert Carey will illustrate. The roster will include Batwoman, Luke Fox (retired from his Batwing identity for now) and a new version of the Drummer. This will be the first new Outsiders series since the brilliant 17 issue series by Bryan Edward Hill and Dexter Soy, which ended in 2020.

Kate Kane and Luke Fox have worked together before, as part of Batman and Tim Drake’s Gotham Knights team in James Tynion’s critically acclaimed Detective Comics Rebirth run (issues #934-#981, 2016-2018).

Interestingly, the team will not be acting as crimefighters or superheroes in this series, but instead become archeologists;  scouring the globe to discover the history of the DC Universe. On Twitter, Lanzing described it as a weird pop-culture adventure archeology saga.

JUST ANNOUNCED

The Hivemind’s digging into the darkest forgotten corners of the DC Universe for twelve issues of truly weird pop-culture adventure archeology.

This book is an impossible dream.

Outsiders #1 features cover and variant cover art by Carey, Roger Cruz, Christian Ward and Dan Mora. It will hit comic shops in November 2023.
