Lex Luthor actor Michael Rosenbaum has revealed that he auditioned for the part of the Dark Knight himself, in Batman: Caped Crusader.
On his podcast Inside You, the former Smallville actor talked about his audition process for trying to play the Dark Knight for Caped Crusader.
“I think my Batman was really good. I think I nailed that. I think they were really happy with Batman, but the Bruce Wayne I don’t think they were happy with. I could tell.”
Rosenbaum reported that he received a callback from his audition, but did not get the part in the end. So far the studio has not made any official announcements on the voice cast.
This would not have been the first time Michael Rosenbaum had a role in a DC animated series. After playing Lex on the live-action Smallville, Rosenbaum also famously played the Flash in the Justice League animated series. More recently, the fan favorite actor can be seen as the crystal-faced Martinex in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and 3.
How funny would it be to hear Lex Luthor and the Flash as The Caped Crusader? To be fair, Rosenbaum is a versatile actor, so his Batman voice probably sounds very different than his Flash voice. It would’ve been very cool to have Batman on the veteran actor’s list of credits.
Batman: Caped Crusader does not have a release date yet.
